Hard bags were purchased as a nonreturnable item with no directions or application from a cycle parts and accessories/salvage yard near Seattle wa, other than the direction they were compete with keys, lights and weatherstripping. I had purchase a couple other sets incomplete from a Spokane cycle recycler but they never seemed to be what I wanted. I had tried to find slant front large ones to no avail, so even thought these had a boxy shape i decied to see if I could get them to work. They hang from the lower of the 2 bolts that hold the fender rails on, but they are now much larger, and a bolt that I had a bushing made for to fit in where the orginal tuirn signal stalks came out of the same rails. I managed to utilize the original brackets for the front supports and made the rear ones from 3/16" x 1" flat stock. They sit wide outside the belt guard on the left so much extra space on the right. They open to the outside, lock on inside, and will clear anything flat carried on the Honda trail 90 rack mounted in place of the rear pillion. I will try to get a picture for the home page when I get back from a trip next week. Went shopping today and they are a big improvement over the small leather bags I had before. I'm satisfied with them at this point. Leatherlyke? is supposed to have the smaller bags for the savage available now, but I have yet to see a picture of them on a bike. Mine are still white plastic until I decide what color to paint them. With the full HD style front fender and long HD exhaust is is a different looking Savage but fits me.
